TABLE GRATUS BUTTERFLY
Clarity of design and functional precision define this concept. Construction and mechanics are understood as integral elements of the form, seamlessly embedded without drawing attention to themselves. The extension function is visibly incorporated into the design, yet deliberately restrained and subordinate to the overall form.
The solid wood tabletop elements open in a fan-like motion, expanding the surface through a controlled, rhythmic movement. Geometry, material thickness, and surface appearance remain consistently uniform. Distinctly cut edges continue the clear linear language even in the extended state, ensuring a calm, architectural overall impression.
The mechanism recedes visually, allowing the movement of the wood to take center stage. Function is thus perceived not as a technical addition, but as a natural continuation of the design. In the space, the object appears calm and reduced when closed, and functional yet expressive when opened.
Available in various wood types, the design can be precisely integrated into different interior and architectural contexts—from residential settings to object-oriented environments. The concept combines flexibility with craftsmanship, precision, and a clear, timeless design language.
Naturally treated wood types: maple, beech, heartwood beech, ash, oak, knotty oak, cherry, walnut, knotty walnut.
